Numerous predictions and takes dotted episode two. The show notes will do more than provide links and more information on material covered in the podcast. Our notes will also be designed to keep track of predictions and takes so we can make fun of each other later.
For the record, predicted order of finish:
NFC West (Mike): NFC West (Lance):
1. Seattle 1. Seattle
2. Los Angeles 2. Arizona
3. Arizona 3. Los Angeles
4. San Francisco 4. San Francisco
We both agreed that San Francisco is a brutally bad team with little prospect for being any better.
Mike surprisingly selected Arizona to finish 3rd, even though it's his hometown team and he's a big fan. However, the quarterback situation has been neglected by management and it will come to a head this year. Carson Palmer is aging out and there is no answer behind him. Gabbert, perhaps?
NFC North (Mike): NFC North (Lance):
1. Green Bay 1. Vikings
2. Detroit 2. Detroit
3. Vikings 3. Green Bay
4. Chicago 4. Chicago
In typical homer fashion, Lance picked Minnesota to win the division and his hatred for Green Bay showed through with a third place finish. Both Mike and Lance agree that Chicago is about as bad as a team gets.
Question of the day: if San Francisco and Chicago were forced to play only each other this season, what would their final records be? Drop your answer and a brief explanation in the comments. We'll read the top answer on a future show.
